Dracula: Costume Design

Costume and Print Design

Costume design research and adaptation of Dracula set in the 1850 Kabuki Theater, Japan.  Researched historical references and created mood boards relating to time period and setting.  Costume details reflect the characterization and gender roles of Dracula and Mina occurring in 1850. Floral prints were custom illustrated to distinguish the feminization of the male actors playing female roles during the male-dominated time period. Materials and accessories were selectively chosen and cost analyzed to meet a budget and reflect the storyline.
